Sospiro Basso opens on grapefruit, sharp and bitter rather than sweet, a short citrus flash that sets up the dry, aromatic character of everything after it.

Labdanum, carnation and mayflower make the heart: resinous and slightly spicy, with the carnation adding a spicy floral warmth. Christian Provenzano composed it in 2022, named for the bass voice, and it is the deepest, driest fragrance in the Sospiro line.

The base is long and woody: vetiver, cedar, sandalwood and guaiac wood, sharpened with black and pink pepper and nutmeg, and given a green, earthy edge by oakmoss, galbanum and celery seed.
