Mancera batch code checker
Mancera is one of the few independent houses whose code can be read, and it can be read because the code checks itself. The lot number runs roughly with the day of the year, so it independently confirms the month the letter names — six times out of seven across the bottles we hold. That agreement is why this house gets a date while most independents on this site do not.

On the base of the bottle and on the box, usually close to the barcode.
What the characters mean
Seven characters: two year digits, a month letter (A for January through L for December), a three-digit lot number, then a fill-line character.

My Mancera code is printed as a date like 01/2021 — can I trust that?
That is the most reliable thing you can find on these bottles, and it is a different format from the seven-character code this page decodes. Where a house prints a date in plain form there is nothing to decode and nothing to get wrong. Our checker will not read that variant — it does not need to, because you already can.
Why do you give Mancera a date but not Montale?
Because the codes are not built the same way, despite the two houses being connected. A Mancera code carries a year, a month letter and a lot number that corroborate one another. A Montale code is a letter followed by four digits with no second field to check the first against, so there is nothing to confirm a reading with — and we will not publish a date we cannot cross-examine.
Mancera bottles feel heavy for the price — is that normal?
Yes. The house uses substantial glass and metal caps across the range, and the weight is not an indicator of anything unusual. Judge instead on the evenness of the atomiser, the alignment of the label, and whether the codes on box and bottle agree.
