Coty
Burberry batch code checker
Burberry fragrances have had three makers: Interparfums until March 2013, Burberry itself from April 2013, and Coty since October 2017. We can give a cautious production year for the four-digit Coty layout; our Goddess bottle reads 4211. Dated shipment records confirm the year-and-day structure on longer Coty lots, while the transfer to four-digit bottle codes remains unverified. Older layouts get no date.

Fragrances from other houses are picked because they share main accords with the best-known Burberry fragrances. They are different perfumes, not copies.
Where Burberry prints the code
On the base of the bottle and on the bottom of the box.
What the characters mean
Some current Coty-made bottles carry four digits consistent with a year digit and a three-digit annual day number. We report the year only. Older Burberry bottles can use different layouts.

Burberry batch code questions
Why does my older Burberry bottle have a different kind of code?
Probably because it was made before Coty took over in October 2017, by Interparfums or by Burberry's own operation. Each maker uses its own coding, and older bottles stay in circulation for years. A layout different from today's four digits is not a sign of a fake on its own.
Do Burberry and Gucci use the same batch codes?
Today they share a shape: both are made by Coty and both carry four digits. That points to Coty's system rather than either house's. It will not last for Gucci — its licence moves to L'Oréal in July 2027 — so the resemblance belongs to the bottles of these years.
Can a batch code prove a Burberry bottle is genuine?
No. Counterfeits exist and frequently copy real codes, so the code can raise a flag but cannot clear a bottle. A bottle whose code differs from the one on its box deserves a closer look, though that is a warning, not proof. An authorised retailer is the only safeguard the brands themselves recommend.
Same scheme, other houses
These brands are also made by Coty. A shared maker does not guarantee a shared code layout, so each page describes the codes we have actually seen for that house.

Try Burberry before you commit
Checking a batch code is usually a way of asking whether a bottle is worth the money. A Burberry decant answers that on your own skin, poured from a bottle whose source we log — no marketplace gamble, no full-bottle regret.
