Parfums de Marly Layton Decant – Vanilla, Apple & Spice Masculine Fragrance
Layton is the Parfums de Marly that gets non-fragrance-people asking what you're wearing within an hour. Sweet but not childish, spicy but not aggressive, polished in a way most masculines never manage. A decant is the right entry — full-bottle Marly money should never be a guess.
Apple and lavender open it, joined by a soft cardamom that gives the whole thing a curious "warm baking" quality. The heart adds violet and geranium; the base lands on vanilla, sandalwood and a dry guaiac wood. Performance is what built Marly's reputation — ten hours easily, with the first three loud enough to fill a room.
Once you've worn it, compare against the brighter Parfums de Marly Althaïr decant or the elixir Layton Exclusif decant. Browse more in our Parfums de Marly decants range.
Your Parfums de Marly Layton decant is poured by hand from a 100% genuine bottle into a clean atomiser before it ships.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does Layton by Parfums de Marly smell like?
Layton opens with a bright, sparkling burst of bergamot and mandarin cut with crisp apple and peppery freshness — it feels sharp and immediately commanding, like stepping into a tailored suit. As it settles, lavender and geranium emerge to create that signature aromatic heart: clean yet seductive, classic yet modern. On the dry-down, the scent deepens significantly. Vanilla rises with cardamom and refined spice, wrapped in sandalwood and patchouli that provide a soft, grounding woody base. It's the arc from fresh and tailored to sensual and sophisticated, with creamy woods and subtle sweetness riding underneath throughout.
How long does Layton last and how strong is the projection?
As an Eau de Parfum, Layton delivers excellent longevity — you can expect 8–10 hours on most skin, with the scent evolving gracefully rather than fading abruptly. Sillage is confident without being aggressive; it projects well in the first few hours, then settles into a closer, more intimate presence by the late dry-down. Skin chemistry varies, so warmer skin types and those with higher natural oils may find it lingers even longer, while drier skin might see it recede a touch sooner.
When and where should I wear Layton?
Layton is a versatile day-to-evening fragrance that works beautifully in professional settings — the opening's crispness and refined citrus make it polished enough for the office or a client lunch. Come evening, it's equally at home at a dinner party, cocktail bar, or date night, where its sensual base and woody depth really shine. It performs well across seasons, though it leans slightly cooler in warmer months (the citrus and aromatic brightness prevent it from feeling heavy) and feels particularly luxurious in autumn and winter, when its spice, cardamom, and creamy woods become even more pronounced.
Is Layton for men, women, or can anyone wear it?
Layton is marketed as male-leaning and unisex, and for good reason — the opening's fresh-aromatic profile and clean lavender-geranium signature feel classically masculine in intention. That said, the vanilla, cardamom, and creamy sandalwood in the base are far from gender-specific, and the overall sophistication and elegance translate beautifully on anyone. If you love clean, spiced, woody fragrances with real depth, your gender has nothing to do with whether it'll work on your skin.
Is Layton from Fragnatium - Luxury decants authentic?
Yes, absolutely. Every decant on Fragnatium - Luxury decants is filled directly from authentic Parfums de Marly bottles, quality-checked for accuracy, and labelled honestly. You're getting genuine Layton, measured precisely into a travel-size atomiser — nothing diluted, nothing counterfeit, no shortcuts.
What is a decant and why should I buy one instead of a full bottle?
A decant is a small, precisely measured portion of authentic fragrance transferred into a travel atomiser — typically 2–10ml depending on size. It's the smart way to try Layton without committing significant money upfront, especially since Layton Exclusif and the original are both premium fragrances from a luxury house. You get to experience the full scent journey (opening, heart, dry-down) over multiple wears, discover how it performs on your skin and in your climate, and decide if it's truly 'the one' for you. Fragnatium - Luxury decants exists because decants democratize fragrance discovery — you're not gambling on a blind full-bottle purchase or regretting an expensive mistake. A decant is the point; it's how fragrance lovers explore and build their collection smartly.

Jack –
Layton lives up to the hype basically — sweet, warm, lavender-vanilla-cardamom in that distinctly Marly fluffy way. Knock one star because performance varies a lot batch to batch in my experience. My last bottle was a monster, this current one is noticeably softer. Still good, just inconsistent.

vanilla-lavender-cardamom done perfectly — two sprays is the sweet spot, three is too much, learned the hard way.
