Sospiro Quartet – Sospiro Discovery Set

Sospiro makes some of the best-rated fragrances in our catalogue and almost none of them are easy to smell in a shop. This set puts four of them side by side — Vibrato, Erba Pura Magica, Dolce Melodia and Il Padrino — running from the freshest to the darkest.

Vibrato opens on grapefruit and bergamot with jasmine and magnolia, then turns herbal and gingery over musk, cedar, amber and orris. Erba Pura Magica is fruit over musk — juicy fruit, bergamot and lemon with jasmine, then balsamic orris and a base of musk, amber, caramel and cedar; if you know Xerjoff's Erba Pura, it is the same idea, warmer. Dolce Melodia is the soft one: mandarin, orange and saffron, then pear, blackcurrant, gardenia, jasmine and rose, settling on vanilla, white musk and sandalwood. Il Padrino closes the set after dark, with blackcurrant, rum and amaretto over amber, patchouli and sandalwood, and vanilla, benzoin and labdanum in the base.

What does the Sospiro Quartet smell like?

Four moods from one house. Vibrato is bright and clean — grapefruit, ginger and herbs over musk and cedar. Erba Pura Magica is a fruity musk with a touch of caramel. Dolce Melodia is soft and floral, pear and gardenia over vanilla and sandalwood. Il Padrino is the dark one: blackcurrant, rum and amaretto over amber, patchouli and a resinous vanilla base.

Is Erba Pura Magica the same as Xerjoff Erba Pura?

No. It is its own fragrance, built on the same idea — bright fruit over a cloud of musk — but with orris and caramel taking it somewhere warmer and softer. If you already like Erba Pura, it is the member of this set most likely to win you over; if you found Erba Pura too sharp, it is worth a second try.

Is this set for men or women?

All four are marketed as unisex, with Dolce Melodia leaning feminine and Il Padrino leaning masculine in how people wear them. Vibrato and Erba Pura Magica sit right in the middle. It is a set for anyone who wants to know the house.

How long do they last, and how strong is the projection?

All four are Eau de Parfum and Sospiro is known for generous performance. Il Padrino and Erba Pura Magica, with their amber, caramel and resin bases, last longest and project most; Vibrato is the freshest and settles closest to the skin after the first hours. Skin chemistry moves all of them in either direction.

Are Fragnatium's Sospiro decants authentic?

Yes. Each of the four vials is hand-poured from an authentic bottle we bought and opened ourselves, and each carries the batch code printed on the bottle it came from, so you can check it yourself. Nothing is diluted or filled ahead of time — we pour to order.

What is a fragrance decant, and why should I try one?

A decant is a measured portion of a real fragrance, transferred into a travel atomiser: the same juice from the same bottle, just less of it. Sospiro bottles are expensive and rarely stocked by ordinary shops, and four of them would cost well over a thousand euros. Four decants let you wear each one for a few days and buy only the bottle you actually reach for.
