Juliette Has A Gun's Not a Perfume is made from a single ingredient, Cetalox, Firmenich's ambroxan. There is no opening in the usual sense: the first spray is already the whole fragrance, a clean, woody, faintly salty warmth that reads more like warm skin than like perfume.

Romano Ricci created it for Juliette Has A Gun in 2010 as a deliberate contradiction: a fragrance with no top, heart or base, launched as a composition without allergens. Ambroxan usually sits at the bottom of a formula as a fixative; here it carries everything, so the scent changes with your skin and the air around it rather than over time.

It stays close and diffuse rather than loud, which is why it is often worn alone as a skin scent or layered under other fragrances.
